As a Construction and Renovation Volunteer in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, your main activities will include:

Renovating and painting classrooms and other facilities: You will work with local staff to repaint and refurbish classrooms, playgrounds, and other facilities to create a more vibrant and engaging learning environment for the children.

Building and repairing structures: You will assist in building and repairing structures such as playgrounds, fences, and other facilities to provide a safe and secure learning and living environment for the children.

Landscaping and gardening: You will help with landscaping and gardening tasks to beautify the premises and create a green and welcoming environment for the children.

Assisting with maintenance tasks: You may also assist with routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, repairing equipment, and keeping the facilities in good condition.

Shared room: The international volunteer will stay in sharing room, which will be clean and comfortable. The room may have a bed, a table, a chair, and a closet or a cupboard.

Shared bathroom: The volunteer will have access to a shared bathroom, which will have basic amenities such as a shower, a toilet, and a sink. The bathroom will be clean and hygienic.

Wi-Fi: The host family will provide the volunteer with Wi-Fi access so that they can stay connected with their family and friends back home.

Meals: The host family will provide the volunteer with three meals a day, which will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The meals will be nutritious and will include local cuisine.

Eligibility for applying as a volunteer traveler

1. Minimum age

The minimum age to apply for a volunteer project is 18 years.

2. Minor Participants (If you are below 18 years)

3. Guarantee of Participation

Submitting an application form does not guarantee your selection and participation in the project.

4. Program fee

The volunteer programs attract a participation fee that is called as "Program fee". The program fee covers the following services to the volunteer to make the trip more comfortable, meaningful, and reliable.

Costs of organizing the trip: There are costs associated with organizing and coordinating a volunteer trip, including arranging accommodations, transportation, and meals. These costs may be passed on to volunteers in the form of a fee.

Support and resources: Volunteers may receive support and resources from the organization hosting the volunteer trip, such as training, orientation, and access to local staff. These resources may require additional funding that is covered by the fee.

Sustainability and impact: Many volunteer organizations work towards long-term sustainable development goals and have a lasting impact on the communities they serve. To ensure that the organization's efforts are sustainable and impactful, funds may be required to support ongoing initiatives.

Local community benefits: The fee may be used to directly benefit the local community where volunteers are serving. This can include funding for community development projects, supporting local businesses, and hiring local staff.

3. The volunteers have to follow the code of conduct in the destination country and projects.

4. The local team is responsible for the management of pick-ups, housing, weekend excursions, safety, and well-being of the volunteers, we encourage the trust-building between the volunteers and the local management.

5. You will be working as a representative of your own country and we would highly appreciate it if you leave a very positive impact on the community you work with.
