Welcome to our Monk Teaching Volunteer Project in Kathmandu, Nepal! Our project provides shelter, education, and development opportunities for young monks in a local monastery. We're currently seeking international volunteers to join us and make a positive impact on the lives of these young monks.

As an international volunteer in our Monk Teaching Volunteer Project in Kathmandu, Nepal, you'll have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities, including:

As an international volunteer in our Monk Teaching Volunteer Project in Kathmandu, Nepal, you'll have the opportunity to stay in the monastery with the young monks. Accommodation in the monastery is basic but comfortable, with shared rooms and bathroom facilities.

The rooms are traditionally decorated, giving you an authentic cultural experience. You'll have access to electricity and running water, although hot water may not always be available.

Living in the monastery will give you a unique opportunity to experience the daily life of the monks and to immerse yourself in their culture and traditions. You'll be able to participate in daily prayers and rituals, learn about Buddhism and meditation, and engage in meaningful conversations with the monks.

Eligibility for applying as a volunteer traveler

1. Minimum age

The minimum age to apply for a volunteer project is 18 years.

2. Minor Participants (If you are below 18 years)

In case you are a minor and would like to create an impact on the global communities, we need to receive a "No Objection Certificate" signed by your parents. (Please send the NOC through an email after submitting the application form, in case you are a minor.) Click here to Download NOC

3. Guarantee of Participation

Submitting an application form does not guarantee your selection and participation in the project.

4. Program fee

The volunteer programs attract a participation fee that is called as "Program fee". The program fee covers the following services to the volunteer to make the trip more comfortable, meaningful, and reliable.

Costs of organizing the trip: There are costs associated with organizing and coordinating a volunteer trip, including arranging accommodations, transportation, and meals. These costs may be passed on to volunteers in the form of a fee.

Support and resources: Volunteers may receive support and resources from the organization hosting the volunteer trip, such as training, orientation, and access to local staff. These resources may require additional funding that is covered by the fee.

Sustainability and impact: Many volunteer organizations work towards long-term sustainable development goals and have a lasting impact on the communities they serve. To ensure that the organization's efforts are sustainable and impactful, funds may be required to support ongoing initiatives.

Local community benefits: The fee may be used to directly benefit the local community where volunteers are serving. This can include funding for community development projects, supporting local businesses, and hiring local staff.

3. The volunteers have to follow the code of conduct in the destination country and projects.

4. The local team is responsible for the management of pick-ups, housing, weekend excursions, safety, and well-being of the volunteers, we encourage the trust-building between the volunteers and the local management.

5. You will be working as a representative of your own country and we would highly appreciate it if you leave a very positive impact on the community you work with.
