Children are so happy with Susie!
Our volunteer is from the USA and is currently participating in the Childcare Volunteer Program in Jaipur, India, organized by the AII group. She is overwhelmed with the beauty and warmth of the city and has been thoroughly enjoying her time here.
The program is aimed at providing support and care to underprivileged children in slum areas of Jaipur. The volunteers are responsible for taking care of the children and their education, as well as organizing fun activities for them. They also work towards creating awareness among the local communities about the importance of education and child welfare.
This is not her first volunteering experience, but it is definitely the most unique and memorable one. She says that the biggest challenge has been the language barrier and learning to communicate with the children. However, she has also experienced a lot of personal growth and self-discovery by adapting to new social and cultural norms.
The children have touched her heart with their resilience and eagerness to learn. She feels a sense of pride and satisfaction in being able to contribute in some small way towards their betterment. She has formed close bonds with the other volunteers and cherishes the friendships she has made.
In her free time, she has explored the city and indulged in exploring the local cuisine and culture. She has also been able to take part in yoga classes and cultural events, which has added an extra layer of depth to her experience.
As her time in India draws to a close, she is filled with a sense of nostalgia and gratitude for the opportunity to come and serve in this unique way. She leaves with a heavy heart but feels that her time here has been incredibly fulfilling, and she knows that these memories and experiences will stay with her for the rest of her life.
